Who else has XM?

I can’t be the only one here with an XM Satellite Radio subscription, can I?

I got a SKYFi2 for Christmas, and I’m loving it so far. I listen to SquiZZ, Ethel, Lucy and XM Comedy mostly, but I’ve done some skipping around the channels.

I’m annoyed that the Air America feed doesn’t include Randi Rhodes’s show in its entirety.

So, where are the other members of XM Nation?

I’ve had XM for a little over 3 years now, I went and grabbed it when it launched in the southern US. The north got it a month before the south did. I’ve still got my original receiver, the Pioneer 900. I think that’s the model number. Old 10 character display, 6 presets. I’m saving for the new MyFi portable, but this whole wedding thing I’m doing right now is kinda standing in the way of that :). My fiance has the original Roady.

I mostly listen to Lucy, The Rhyme, BPM, XM Comedy, and the 80’s channel. I really miss Special X, I know I can get it with the online setup, but I wish they’d bring it back to the regular lineup. On the Rocks as well. Still, I can always find a lot to listen to, and I never find myself lacking for good music or talk. I stopped listening to America’s Left after the election, just didn’t want to hear politics for a while.

I personally don’t have it (between NPR and my Neuros, my listening needs are covered). But my mom has Sirius, her boyfriend has XM, and my sister and her husband have both in their big rig. They all love it, and I enjoyed the quality and content.

My parents have it for their business (they also sell the things). I had to work there for a day over Christmas break, and Dad put on the radio for me. I decided that day that satellite radio is exactly the same as satellite TV–100 channels and there was still nothing I wanted to listen to.

I have XM and love it. I’ve had for years now – when it first came out, before Sirius was even off the ground. I listen to Squizz, XM Liquid Metal, Ethel, The City, Top 20 on 20 (shut up), fungus, The Flow (I think that’s what it’s called), Real Jazz and XM Classics.

I’m a little miffed at Squizz becuase they have an on-air personality, Bodhi (I think). He takes calls. I HATE that. One of the primary reasons I subscribed to XM was that I wouldn’t have to hear people talking. People are stupid and say stupid things. The listeners who call in all sound dumb, too. On the plus side, I can SMS requests to them so I guess it’s not all bad.

There are many of us here. I’ve had it since March of 2002 (when it became available where I was). Had it in my old truck, now in the minivan and have the XM boom box, too.

Not only that but a helpful pal got me a tour of the XM facility in DC. It might well be the coolest thing on the planet.

I got XM with my Accord in October and I love it. I usually bounce around the decades section but wiith forays into Cinemagice, Soul Street, Classical music section and BBC World Service.

Sometimes I get the “100 channels of nothing” effect but not too often. I’m really glad that the decades channels play obscure stuff, not just the top 100 the way FM stations do.

I have Sirius. My brother, who I ride with quite a bit, has XM. Now that Sirius has CNN (instead of just Headline News), I can barely tell the difference.

Wait’ll baseball season.

Man, am I glad it was XM and not Sirius that got MLB.

whew

Yeah. Sirius has the NFL and NBA. Either way, I prefer to listen to ESPN radio’s coverage of the games. They have a talk show that goes live to on site reports for the big plays.

I was about to start this same thread!

I’ve had XM for one day… I ordered a SkiFi and the home adapter kit off of Ebay and it just arrived yesterday. So far I’ve listened to XMU the most, but I’ve also tried Fred, XM Music Lab, and Real Jazz. The Rock has been everything it promised… I have yet to hear a song that I’ve ever heard before, which is the main reason I got XM. When I was growing up in Chicago I used to listen to WXRT and WNUR. Living in Florida I miss those stations. Listening to the radio used to carry with it a sense of discovery. Now it’s just the same stuff over and over and over…

The Jazz stations were a bit dissapointing, although I should probably give them more of a chance. And having every baseball game on all summer is what clinched it. I worry I’ll never leave the house!

Another annoying thing is all the little parts you need. The home setup was easy, but then I bought a car FM modulator, only to find that it’s useless without a cradle. :smack:

I’ve had it for a year and a half. The five presets are '80s on 8, Mix on 22, Top Tracks (and sometimes they spell it Trax, but only sometimes!), Lucy, and The Blend. I like all the '80s stuff, but I hate those long jam sessions and can’t stand Heidi Selexa! Any time she comes on, I change the station. I also like all the Latin music stations they have, and the comedy station can be a nice change of pace when I get tired of music.
