I’ve googled this topic to no avail. When did it start?

Les Nessman had five.

It started back in the late 60s under Woody Hayes. Different coaches have used different criteria to award Buckeyes…so it’s hard to compare accumulated sticker amounts.

Thanks, Dave - I imagine that Gamble and Doss may be up there as both of them seemed to have their helmets completely covered.

Gamble’s your best bet, because he’s on the field the entire game.
