Who have you seen live that is no longer with us?

I believe it was the Baltimore Arena. Torn down to build the Convention Center when the Inner Harbor was developed. Best seats were next to and slightly behind the stage. Poor visuals but the accoustics were outstanding.

B.B. King–last time was at Wolf Trap in Virginia, maybe 1-2 years before he died. He sat in a chair for the concert and did more talking than playing. It was more like visiting him in his living room.

Andres Segovia–In his later years, maybe two years before he died, so he was in his 90s. He shuffled across the stage with a cane, and I thought, man this is going to be awful. But they brought him his guitar and his playing was amazing.

Terry Kath–with Chicago in Baltimore at the old Civic Center, before his untimely and careless death.

Robin Williams - saw him during the Weapons of Self Destruction tour. My friend was producing the show for the local promoter and called me and a few other friends in to fill up the seats at Constitution Hall (it was the performance that was filmed for the HBO special).

Danny Gatton - he was a local to the Maryland/DC area, and he routinely played at a place called “Tornado Alley” in Wheaton. I had a friend who worked there and he would get us in to see the bands (we were underage). Must have seen him a bunch of times, maybe a dozen?

Tom Petty, several times.

Damn it, Tom.

I saw Motorhead (RIP Lemmy) and Dio (RIP Ronnie James Dio) opening for Iron Maiden in 2003, Yes (RIP Chris Squire) in 2000 and 2004, Soundgarden (RIP Chris Cornell) at Lollapalooza in 1992, Sanctuary (RIP Warrell Dane) opening for Megadeth in 1988 and headlining in 1990 where “Into the Mirror Live” was recorded, Helloween (RIP Ingo Schwichtenberg) with Armored Saint and Grim Reaper in 1987, Boston (RIP Brad Delp) in 1987, Slayer (RIP Jeff Hannenman) in 1988 and 1991, and Quiet Riot (RIP Kevin DuBrow) in 1984.

I also remember seeing ELP (RIP Keith Emerson and Greg Lake) but my memory fails as to exactly when.
