Oh, yeah… “Do you trust the physics?”
Incidentally, never do that one on a windy day.

I remember confusing the Slim Goodbody guy with Richard Simmons thanks to the 'fros.
You mean … Dirk Niblick of the Math Brigade? He’ll look you right in the eye! (He’s a hero, and what a guuuuuuy.)
That’s who I’m thinking of.
There was an episode where Mr. Bloodhound was kidnapped and left a coded message written on his belt wrapped around his cane. The gang had to figure out how to decode it and rescue him. At the end, we do get to see Mr. Bloodhound, but not his face. He was a big fat guy, IIRC.
Thanks, brain! Good thing I didn’t need that space for something more important!
You’re right. Damn faulty memory.
Yeah, it got to me, too.
Same here. Watched it and subscribed to the magazine but don’t remember anything that was in them.
Speaking of magazines, I don’t think I subscribed to the one from the show, but I do remember many dog-eared copies of Cricket (which I was pleasantly surprised to see is still being published) and Nat’l Geographic’s “World”, which is also still being published under a different name.
I got Cricket magazine! I remember the Cricket illustrations at the bottom of the pages…
From Mathnet:
George Frankly: (answers phone) Mathnet. (brief pause) Who? Scarlet? No, this isn’t Kate. It’s Frankly, Scarlet, and I don’t give–oh, General Scarlet.
I love that episode! I tried to recreate it at home. Results were not quite as good.
I could swear there was a lamp smashing element in there as well, but I think maybe that was another one.
Because of this thread, for the last three days, I’ve had that damn theme song interrupting my thoughts dozens of times a day. Make it stop!
John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidtt!
His name is my name too
Whenever we go out
The people always shout
“There goes John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidtt!”
LALALALALALALA
Better?
They did a segment on Kiss - the lights and effects etc. Great stuff.
I had quite a thing for Trini (sigh).
Join the club. And I was a straight girl!
Seems like she’s done nothing on film since.
Mathnet was also responsible for one of the weirder dreams I’ve ever had (as evidenced by the fact that I still remember it). Other than the theme song, that’s the only part of 3-2-1 Contact I can remember right now.
MathNet wasn’t on 3-2-1, it was on Square One.
The funny thing is that I remember all of those shows except 3-2-1 Contact. After seeing the intro, and some clips, I don’t wonder why. They seem to be a lot more documentary style, which I found incredibly boring.
I see someone else has already mentioned that it was “Mathnet.” And, for once, the parody wasn’t lost on me, as I also loved Dragnet which showed repeats on some channel–I think Nickelodeon.
It’s my current earworm, too!
