Who is papable right now?

I couldn’t think of a good Erdő joke. Thank you.

Sounds reasonable. There’s also our very own Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke to consider in the very conservative wing. My guess is that in the first round all of those guys will get some votes (probably around geography with the conservative Africans voting for Sarah, conservative Europeans for Erdo, and conservative USAians for Burke), and eventually they will consolidate around one of them. Will that be enough to put one of them over the top at 2/3? I don’t even want to try to guess.

But how many degrees are they from Cardinal Bacon?

It’s sacrilicious!

Wiki says there are eight Cardinals from seven of the 23 Eastern Rite churches, five of whom are eligible to vote for the Pope. The others are over age 80.

On an iPhone or iPad, hold down the “o” key and a number of accents come up; slide your finger along to “ő” and release.

Likewise Android.

Windows computers - look at the “character map”.

Legally, the requirements to be eligible are, essentially, that you must be a baptised male Catholic, but “Catholic” in this sense means the entirety of the 24 “particular churches” that make up the Roman Catholic Church and recognise the pope’s primacy. What people think of when they say RCC is the Latin Church, which is only one of those 24 particular churches, although it is, of course, by far the largest one.

Hard to believe, when they stripped him of all his other “rights and privileges,” that the Vatican didn’t make clear he couldn’t take part in any subsequent conclave.

Ha ha you say. They are more clever than you think.

Never mind about this guy:
