Who is your idol?

A pinch of Gandhi, a touch of Steven Spielberg, a tablespoon of my father, and toss in a little bit of the Dalai Lama.

Geddy Lee: Lead singer, bassist and keyboardist for the band Rush.

I learned to play several musical instruments in my youth, but it was Geddy’s musicianship that inspired me to pick up the bass guitar, which has become the instrument with which I best express myself. He is a musical talent I can only dream of ever matching, but he inspires me to keep trying and trying. He is a genius composer as far as I’m concerned.

Geddy plays in a band which, in 30 years of fame, has never acquired a reputation for drug use or other debauchery. And he seems to be an all-around nice guy, too.

Wes Anderson.

Douglas Adams crossed with David Gilmour, in drag.
I’m female, after all.

I guess my closest thing to an idol would be that when I was young, I wanted to be Margot Fonteyn (I really dont remember how to spell it)

George C. Marshall
General of the Army
President of the American Red Cross
Secretary of State
Nobel Prize Winner

All around stand-up guy.

John, the beloved.

Work related, I’d have to say David Ogilve for my regular job, and a combination of Kenneth Branagh and Lawrence Fishburn for my weekend job.

And yeah, when I have a question about how to do something, I look to what they’ve done for guidance and inspiration.

Thomas Jefferson… although you’d hardly notice any resemblance.

I agree. I went to Westminster Abbey and it was a great thrill to see her final resting place. What an amazing experience!

Definitely. I try to read all I can get my hands on about her, fiction or non-fiction. My ultimate dream would be to write a novel based on her life that does justice to her amazing legacy.

I also consider Gilda Radner to be my idol. It’s funny, she wasn’t perfect, and she admits that in her book, but she also had this wonderful sense of humor in her darkest days - even when she was down in the absolute depths of life. If I can be in my worst moments and still make someone else smile, I’ll be happy.

Ava

Seeing as how he’s my idol and all, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to spell his name correctly.

David Ogilvy.

Jackie Chan

Total dedication to his art.

Who do I admire the most?

Richard Feynman.

Multiple Nobel winner; artist; practical joker; self-taught safe-cracker … wow.

To anyone who’s interested, I heartily recommend the books “Surely you’re Joking, Mr Feynman!” and “What do you care what other people think?” – the two volumes of his wildly hilarious, absorbing, fascinating, occasionally moving autobiography.

I don’t tend to idolize people but I think I idolize Oprah a bit. I think of her as this person who can do anything by the force of her will.

William Hung, Failed American Idol.

Talentless, clueless, irony-free dorkmeister who’s surfed a wave of stereotype and sincerity to a record deal and an internet fanpage loaded with marriage proposals.

Giving hope to millions!
