Who Madness: Championship Round - "Who's Last"

My local classic rock radio station has a daily program called 10 at 10 where they choose a year and play ten songs from that year. Listeners call in to vote for best of set. Today’s show happened to be 1971, and the second song played was “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Shockingly, WGFA got beaten out by Carole King’s “So Far Away” as Best of Set. (It didn’t even come in second; Nilsson’s “Think About Your Troubles” did. How wimpy!)

Well Won’t Get Fooled Again didn’t suffer the same fate here, where it defeated “Baba O’Riley” by a 2-1 margin for Championship Who Hit.

A big thank you to everyone who played, and a tip of the Elephant Shrew chapeau to blondebear for his bonus baksheesh.

Final score:

  1. Baba O’Riley 12

  2. Won’t Get Fooled Again 24

**Biffy **(and everyone else), thanks so much for going mad for my favorite band. Hope you don’t mind that I finished off a few threads with the video links. It goes without saying that, among Whogeeks, the next round would be “Now, what is your favorite version?”

So, allow me to post a final link…the song “The Two” used to close the 2007 shows. Pete might obfuscate and say that “Tea and Theater” is about his characters from “Wire and Glass”, but we all know that it’s his love song to Roger, John and Keith…
