I vote Gabriel Dumont, Métis military leader in 1885 Northwest Rebellion/Resistance. Followed by Helen Armstrong, who was a leader during the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike. Or Ginger Goodwin, shot and killed while avoiding conscription in 1918
