I have just discovered the soundtrack to the 2014 movie “Lucy.”
I am totally in love with this particular song, and I’m just wondering who the drummer was. My Google-fu is weak today. Can someone help?

I’ve got Eric Serra as the composer and it sounds electronic to me so I doubt there’s actually any drums. Now you just have to figure out who performed it.
Oh, I know it’s Eric Serra.
But seriously, you don’t think that’s a live drummer? What really gets me is the cymbal splash on every 4th measure. Sounds like it’s miked and executed just about as perfectly as I’ve ever heard.
He has his own studio and a band he plays live with. As with Trent Reznor, it’s just as easy for him to have a monster session guy play it live as to use a simulator program. (and way more heart.)
Ya know what else is all synthed…the theme song from Seinfeld (yes, I’m taking about the bass line). I just found that out a few days ago, the fact that no one played that kinda let me down a little.
Yeah, those “drums” are totally digital.
And since it’s a sample it’s perfect every time.
There isn’t anything about the track that makes think it’s a live drummer. Programming the placement of the cymbal splash is a piece of cake. The quality of the sounds, effects, mix, etc. is a different story.
