Throughout early education, we have been taught the development of science, politics and exploration within art. Why have we not been made aware of the development in African or ‘Negro’ developments within these causes. It is not to say they are not existent, but why are they not prevalent?
You might equally ask why we’re not taught about Chinese or Indian or whoever. You might equally ask why the Japanese or Chinese or Indian or whoever concentrate on their own cultural histories. There’s just so much of it that teachers can only touch the surface and peoples’ own cultural histories are that much more accessible. How much more useful is knowledge of the great university of Timbuktu to the average person than knowledge of the development of the scientific method?
