The only people I “regularly” check on are the lead singer of Paramore, Hayley Williams and the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dan Gilbert.
While not a fan of the former, it has been very cool to see what the inner thoughts are of someone as they are gaining fame & success. Plus she seems to be a very nice person who takes the time to answer her fans.
The latter because the guy is…interesting. I would like to work for him for a couple of years.
The rest of my very limited Twitter following is the news, and various software companies for their patches/updates.
“Shit my dad says” is always an entertaining read.
I’ve really enjoyed following Conan O’Brien. He gets some decent one-liners in there. The latest two posts are:
“Angelina Jolie is joining Twitter. If she thinks she can lure away my core audience of young male teens she …I’m screwed.”
“An LSU professor has invented a remarkable cheap and effective homemade device that soaks up oil. It’s called ‘Conan’s face in high school’.”
Half Pint Ingalls, who tweets from the faux POV of Laura Ingalls Wilder, is always fun.
Joe Pernice’s twitter feed (aka “Pernice To Me”) has been turned into a book and now a puppet movie series. That would be overkill if it weren’t so hilarious. Certainly worth following.
There are a lot of great comedians that tweet regularly, mostly jokes. Here’s a quick list of ones I can think of off the top of my head:
Paul F. Tompkins: @PFTompkins
Michael Ian Black: @MichaelIanBlack
Rob Huebel: @RobHuebel
Scott Aukerman (former Mr. Show writer and host of Comedy Death Ray): @scottaukerman
Doug Benson: @dougbenson
Chris Hardwick: @nerdist
Aziz Ansari: @azizansari
Louis C.K.: @louisck
Rainn Wilson: @rainnwilson
Paul Scheer: @paulscheer
Craig Ferguson: @craigyferg
Joel McHale: @joelmchale
Danny Pudi (Abed in “Community”): @dannypudi
Also, you should follow:
Roger Ebert: @ebertchicago (He tweets about all sorts of topics. Once he lost the use of his voice his writing has really blossomed online. Check him out for sure.)
Rick Bayless (chef): @rick_bayless
That line alone is enough to make me go and follow him right now.
My favourite is Stephen Fry: @stephenfry
The Onion (@TheOnion) is always good.
Roger Ebert is the only one I follow.
However, Conan may join him:
“My horoscope says I “never let a struggle stop me.” At least that’s what I think it says, I can’t get the cookie all the way open.”
“Scholars have revealed Jefferson changed “Subjects” to “Citizens” in the Dec of Ind. Also, “Pursuit of Happiness” was “Score me some stank”.”
“Yesterday a Marilyn Monroe chest x-ray sold for $45,000. Meanwhile, my dr’s note saying I have a mild case of shingles just sits on e-Bay.”
“Just got the new iPad. This amazing device has already revolutionized the way I use a calculator.”
Is this really the best there is? Streaming jokes?
Isn’t that what life is?
The aforementioned Rick Bayless often tweets recipes.
Don’t lie: it’s also because she was dumb enough to “accidentally” Tweet a picture of her tits a few weeks back.
Stephen Colbert is pretty funny.
As already mentioned, Robert Ebert not only is interesting and funny, but he posts a lot of informative stuff and great links.
Anderson Cooper posts interesting stuff.
Real Simple Magazine posts yummy recipes.
Kevin Smith Tweets A LOT, but is damned entertaining (and vulgar)
No one.
Honestly, I would have never thought this idea would have caught on. I am amazed that it has become so mainstream.
I refuse to get an account. Out of general principle.
Again, I show my age. And get the hell off my lawn!
You are such a freaking stud.

Don’t worry, grampa, Matlock will be on again any minute. I said, “DON’T WORRY, GRAMPA…” oh, he’s drifted off again.
Well, damn. I missed that.
Did I mention I don’t actually receive these tweets on my phone, I just go to the site. I’m a poor excuse for a twitterer.
I follow a lot of sports people:
Joe Posnanski: JPosnanski - one of the best sports writers out there
Buster Olney: Buster_ESPN
Will Carroll: injuryexpert - great insight to sports injuries and sports in general
OzzieGuillen - hilariously horrible
Rany Jazayerli: jazayerli - a KC Royals blogger with great insight
KenTremendous: Former writer of FireJoeMorgan.com and writer on “Parks and Recreation” (also, cousin Mose on “The Office”)
Mark Cuban: mcuban - a pretty interesting person. It’s not always sports, he talks business a lot as well
Of Interest:
BillGates and gatesfoundation: tweets about a great number of interesting things/causes
