Who SHOULD win in Syria?

Is that some kind of Godwinisation? Anyway, yes the people of Iran are by all accounts very nice people, and personally I’d rather live in Iran than either Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. YMMW.

Nobody ever said Iran was above reproof. The contention was that it was worse than all the rest. So do you deny that 1) both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia support terrorist groups in other countries? 2) that they’re doing it to a much destructive extend than Iran.

The people of Iran are very good and honest people.
Unfortunately the regime running the country are some of the worst in society, anywhere.

But for all of the blood on their hands, much of it Iranian, they don’t seem to have any difficulty sleeping at night.

May they one day get what they truly deserve…

Calling a corrupt, brutal, hypocritical bunch like that as not being above reproach is like saying that Charles Manson was not always as good as he could have been.

What a silly analogy. And to observe that the USA has chosen Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as allies is like observing that Charles Manson is not the best boyfriend for your daughter.

So the Syrian regime was making some small progress but new shipments of arms to the other side seem to have broken what advancement there was. Congratulation, you have managed to renew the stalemate and prolong the conflict. More meat for the meat grinder. And I see the rebels have taken up decapitating Christian priests. Happy days.

The Kurds however appears to have established a relatively peaceful enclave and got the oilfields running again. Their main enemy being the rebels. A Syrian split up stills seems like the most viable and promising outcome.

Obama is asking Congress for $500 million to train and arm “vetted” Syrian rebels.

This is shaking out into a multi-sided war like the Lebanese Civil War. The Syrian rebels are fighting each other as well as the government. The U.S. is still against Assad but also against ISIS. Iran is for Assad but against ISIS. And so on. It’s hard to see how that can end well.
