Who to discriminate against next?

It looks like the anti-gay movement is a shadow of its former self. What you guys think will be the next hot item? I’m looking for something with a mass backing from the Republicans, hopefully also under the blessing of the church.

My money is on the working poor. We’re already seeing the beginnings of it with the fight against raising the minimum wage, the cutbacks in benefits, the outlawing of charitable help, on so on.

The poor, non-whites (especially blacks), immigrants, Muslims and/or atheists.

I assumed the right had already pretty much given up on gays and moved on to demonizing the transgendered.

Furries, and hell I like those guys (in general, some really do go way the hell off the deep end)

I don’t think they have enough public awareness or numbers to make good targets. Hating them is more an internet fad thing I think.

Yeah, I was being a bit facetious, but they are a group its generally seen as OK to hate on (or at least look down on)

I’d say the Muslims have a long ride ahead.

And let’s not forget atheists; we are cordially distrusted by millions, how far is that from hate?

Millenials might make a good target for the right. They are much more atheistic than preceding generations, they don’t want to buy houses or cars, and they like those awful video games a lot. They vote lefty. A lot of them are poor and unemployed, and many of them are underemployed, shiftless bunch that they are. They send pictures of themselves naked to each other, so they’re visually sexually promiscuous. What’s not to hate, if you’re a Republican?

Ok, a lot of them are probably children of Republicans, but who doubts that Republicans would eat their own kids if the price was right? Not me!

There has always been strong opposition to raising the MW. This is nothing new. Can you enlighten us on how charitable help has been “outlawed”?

With a well-poisoned OP, I hesitate even to wade into this thread, but: The history of discrimination in the US is mostly of breaking things down. I can’t see any group emerging that has not already been historically on the “discriminated against” end of things. Blacks, Asians, non-Christians… you name it.

I’m going with Muslims. We’re already seeing it, and I think it’ll only get worse.

The miserable fat Belgian bastards!

Working poor is a good one. Some people just have some bad luck, others make a couple bad decisions when young but want to work hard and live a decent life, others were just born with the deck stacked against them.

Another type of working poor is the loutish, shiftless, lazy, drug addled, drunk etc. sort of person who people generally agree deserve whatever bad shit comes their way. If you have never been blue collar, or working poor for any period of time, it is easy to believe they mostly consist of the latter group and not the former.

Meh.

Four hours and no serious point and nothing to actually debate.
I’d send it to the Pit but it is not even worthy of that venue.

Closed.
