As a casual observer, I think there are more surprises in store for box office:
Having taken off Monday from work, my SO and I didn’t go see Harry Potter over the weekend, but thought we would go on Monday when things died down. We went to a multiplex for the 1:30 PM show - figured we would be practically alone in the theater.
Wrong.
The lines were huge!
Our screening was easily 80% full, if not more.
I might add that the average age of the audience members was about 65.
This film has legs, and there is a lot more coin to rake in.
I will be interested to see what the final tally is at the end of next weekend, if the screening continue to fill up all week.
This could be the saddest thing I’ve read on these boards.
