Title says it all. Was it named after Victoria as I long thought or Queen Adelaide (William IV’s wife) as some web pages say? Or perhaps it was not named after any specific queen, just queens[sup]1[/sup] in general? Evidence against Adelaide is that she was dead about 10 years when it was named and Victoria was the one who approved the name.
