Still doesn’t work, because the answer is b-o-r-g-s. The clue has to evoke a plural.

In which case, perhaps the clue should be something like:

There’s another kind of clue you could make, but only if you were willing to include a theme in your crossword.

And so on…and I’m sure you can see what the “trick” of the trick clues are.

An underwater allergy is a sea rash…a crash. chives would also work.
