I’m still holding out a little hope for Chuck Hagel
Drudge reporting an “early morning announcement” will be made either tuesday or wednesday. No hint as to who it will be, but the NYT is saying the decision has been finalized.
I don’t know if this guy has an axe to grind or what, but he makes a pretty good case against Bayh.
Gotta be Biden. This Russia-Georgia war and the specter of Cold War II mean that security gravitas is the trump card and Biden has it in spades. That plus his willingness to be the attack dog, his being Catholic and popular with blue collar workers make it a no brainer. But if not Biden, then Kaine. If not Kaine, Bayh. If not those three, ABC.
The momentum in the media babble seems to be going towards Biden now. I think the fact the he was in New Mexico with Richardson today might be significant, though.
The thing I like about Biden is that he doesn’t take shit from the right. He’ll get up in some faces. I think Obama could really use a pitbull.
All I know is, it’s been hilarious to see the news outlets twist themselves in knots trying to break this story when they don’t have a clue. I saw CNN go back around to Clinton at some point. I have no idea why and I’m not sure why they did either. But the “Dream Ticket” was back on for five minutes for whatever reason. Guess it’s over now.
Right now I think I’m hoping Obama picks Kaine, and then McCain chooses Romney, who decides to go by Obomney. Then we can have Obama-Kaine against McCain-Obomney. Then the “Osama” thing will be the least of anyone’s problems.
And the winner is Joe Biden. I like him. very smart.
Have you actually heard this, that Biden was chosen? Or are you just opining? I can’t find anything about it online.
We need Biden. We need an attack dog who just got called to Georgia by their president, not sent there by our candidate as Lieberman and Graham were. I’ll trust in Obama’s youth and the Secret Service to keep him alive, and if he doesn’t live, well, Biden’s been a good solid liberal for many years - certainly an improvement over McCain and anyone he might pick.
ETA: Preview is my friend!
Relax, Jake, it’s gonzomax.
That said, it could be, but I sure hope not. There is a reason he’s never done well in his presidential races, and that reason is that very few people think he’d be a good president.
This year, more than any year in my lifetime, I think the electorate is going to look very hard at both VP choices as a possible president.
Is there an inside joke I missed, getting from Romney to Obomney? Or are you just playing with word sounds?
There’s some kind of reader’s poll on the Drudge page on who people think the choice will be with Biden leading the pack (actually, he’s second to “Wild Card”). Maybe that’s what gonzo was referring too.
I wouldn’t mind Biden. I like that he’s a guy who’ll go out and kick somebody in the balls.
Before or after he plagiarizes them?
Wasn’t that one of twelve or thirteen times he used the quote and he attributed it every other time? Sounds like a brain fart to me. Also, I don’t really think McCain wants to take a stroll down memory lane, or we might start talking about just how spectacularly his marriage ‘failed’ and how he ended up marrying a rich, beautiful twenty something about twenty-years younger than himself a month or two after the divorce was finalized.
Tell me about all your term papers and tell me you never used unattributed info from a source. How much is too much. ?
Eh…Martin Luther King plagiarized too. So did Jesus.
My top 3 guesses:
- Sam Nunn
- Joe Biden
- Evan Bayh
Oh, and my wildcard:
9999: Colin Powell
I think Powell is the longest of long shots but he sure would be a kick in the balls to the Republicans.
I don’t know. Just ask Neil Kinnock. He may know.
