The nowhere/now here thing is a central theme on the really interesting TV series Miracles. Internet Move Database Link
A great little show a little like the X-files only not so irritating.
Despite being agnostic bordering on atheist, I really enjoyed this series. Weekly episodes dealt with such varied topics as Indian spirits, ghosts, reincarnation, and a whole heap of stuff. I was really sad to find out it’d been axed.
I wonder if the name put people off watching it? I only caught it by accident while flicking channels one night, having avoided it on the assumption it was basically a Touched by an Angel-style crapfest.
One of the reviews from the IMDB sums up the story well:
For a very long time… an embarassingly long time, I misread “misled” as being pronounce “my-zuld”. I have no idea why my brain did it, but that’s how I read it. Reading has always been my strong suit, so imagine my embarassment when I realized I’d also been pronouncing “disheveled” incorrectly for most of my life as well. I had never actually heard either word pronounced aloud until the point that I realized I had been pronouncing it wrong, so I guess that works somewhat in my favor.
Oh, and as for Diagon Alley, and Knock Turn Alley, I had to point those out to my dad and sisters when we were watching the movie. Was totally lost on them.
