Who'd be the best Prez in a crisis?

From the available though of course not ccomprehensive media reports we get here in Oz, it seems that both candidates are comfortable pushing broadly “steady as she goes” agenda. Sounds fair enough as in a tight race they ain’t going to get elected by being alarmist.

But, for the sake of an argument, what happens if the shit hits the fan? Say the stockmarket crashes, or a brutally cold winter pushes oil over USD45 and powers up inflation and interest rates, an environmental or public health disaster etc. I’m being hypothetical here, not speculating on the likelyhood of any of these occuring.

Which of these guys would (best) maintain the cool head during headless chicken time? Do either of them have a track record in this regards?

bugger, newbie puts up another brick!

Checks cyberarmpits, resolves to change his deodorant.
Crawls back under his rock to rebuilt shattered ego.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind

Jack Ryan

Probably Gore.
Bush seems to rattle pretty easy, hasn’t held but a couple press conferences since he got razzed about being subliminably dyslexic. Apparently the pressure was too much ???

-BTW You’ll probably not get a straight answer on this this close to one of the most vicious elections in decades.

What would gore do in a crisis? He would do whatever the polls tell him to do.

Also do you actually think that the pressure of being called subliminally dislexic was to much for bush? (whats subliminally dislexic?:))
