I was just watching the NFL Europe on Fox. It was kinda fun, a nice reminder that it’s only a little over two months until the mighty purple and black begins it’s march from the swamps of Jacksonville to the blazing banks of Cleveland, right throught the heart of the AFC Central. What struck me, however, is how few people were in the stadium. Here in Baltimore, we pack 'em in wall to wall and treetop tall to see the Ravens. I was just wondering how this quintessentialy American sport is viewed in Europe. I know y’all like soccer for some reason, but do you like (American) football? Any Continental dopers who can help me out?
HI weirddave,
I personally love watching NFL europe on TV when I can.
COnsidering, when I was over seas watching I had my good old american upbringing and love of the game BEFORE I went to see a game.
Heck, I got to watch Delhomme play over there, that won me a HUGE bet on the Saints/dallas game last year.
With luck we can get Coldfire to give up his input on the Amsterdam team.
Your Ravens look like they should have a great year. Provided Banks plays like he did at the end of last season.
Alas, I see my Cards not doing so well again out in the desert.
Osip
2 more months till FOOTBALL!
I have to say honestly I’ve never met a single person over here who followed NFL Europe. Or American football in general, which is basically viewed as rugby for people with thirty-second attention spans.
ruadh!
My brother would disagree with you! He’s been a huge Dallas fan for about 15 years!
Dont know why, the game stops too much for me to like it. Its a good game, and I can see how people like it, just not my cup of tea
sorr, I didnt see you wrote NFL europe…
