And what part did you like best?
The best bit for me was the rapid decompression. The chamber filled with fog and we had to locate our oxygen masks, don them, and go to 100%. I wanted to do it again.

That would be fun. Never done it.
But I’ve lived for a few years at 8500 ft… does that count? :dubious:
Having done it about 6 times total in the USAF …
The RD is about the only entertaining part. The hypoxia demos (take off mask & try to do kiddy crosswords or add 3-digit numbers on paper until you get too stupid to continue) are OK, but for me the headache usually set in before the euphoria so it wasn’t a real great trip.
Actually, the best part was the gov’t-paid trip to another base with not much to do and too much time to do it in, an extra $100 in your pocket for beer money, and new & different (at least to me) women in the club. Good times were had by all.
Altitude chamber, we don’t need no steenkin’ altitude chamber; we can get f***ed up & in trouble right down here on the floor.
Wouldn’t the decompression be hazardous to your ears? Does anybody have trouble?
The chamber sucks. What makes it worse is the idiot that decides he’s so tough that he never has to put the mask back on during the hypoxia demo and gets beat down by the safety observers as a result. It’s happened twice while I was in.
Oh, and it predictably smelled like ass.
