Who's going to the World Baseball Classic?

Just thought I’d start a general sort of thread to find out who’s planning to attend games in the World Baseball Classic.

Personally, I’m planning to shortly buy tickets for at least one (and hopefully more) of the Round 2 games that will be played in Anaheim. I was also hoping to travel to the championship, but I think those games may be sold out already, and I’m not yet prepared to pay scalper prices.

Still, I really and truly feel that this is an incredibly historic occasion for the game worldwide, and I can’t fathom missing out on being a part of it.

Who else is in? How excited are you about it?

And does anyone really care that Bonds isn’t playing in it?

I wish I was going, but the final is the day after Spring Break ends and I can’t afford to fly to San Diego anyway.

Ive been extremely excited about this concept for a long time, because I think it’s what the sport really needs. I sort of wonder if maybe playing it in November would be better, but March is better than not at all.

I wanna go. I’ll be in Tucson for Spring Training and it’s very likely I’ll be in the stands watching the US beat the snot out of South Africa.

I’m going to all 3 Finals games at Petco Park here in San Diego. Bought my tickets last year, actually, the day they went on sale. My wife is going with me (she loves baseball almost as much as I do).

Only bummer, my stepkids will be at their father’s that weekend, so they aren’t going with us. I really wanted to experience this first-ever event with my 14 y.o. stepson, but I guess I will have to settle for getting him some quality souvenirs.

I wish I could go, but I have neither the money, the transportation, or the time to get to the games.

I would go, but the WBC people thoughtlessly forgot to schedule any events in Chicago, which is, I will have you know, an absolutely delightful place to take in a baseball game in March.
