I want one. I’d like something to focus on while I do yoga, and something to calm me down when I get anxious or upset. But I also don’t want to feel like an idiot (like rubbing my earlobes and repeating “Woosah” a la Bad Boys II).
The Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear works well for me, though I’d not call it my mantra:
*
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain. *
Now where’s my bound concubine and Mentat assasin?
You can take it in stride, or you can take it right between the eyes.
Suck up, suck up and take your medicine,
It’s a good day, it’s a good day to face the hard things.*
I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra. I don’t need a mantra.
