Chafee had a fanbase?!
I’m only commenting on the fringe supporters, but the Hillary Hysterics despite being a minority of Hillary supporters are probably the most obnoxious.
Make any sort of non-worshipful comment about Hillary–even a factual, objective one like “Hillary is perceived–rightly or wrongly–as being dishonest” and this fringe (but vocal) crowd of Hillarybots have tantrums and hysterical outbursts of manic denial that make Trump supporters look rational. And given how dumb and hysterical the Trump fringes get, that’s going some.
More accurately, I’ve been appropriating the term to put it to more accurate usage-namely the Republican candidates who are undisputedly cuckold for the plutocratic caste especially considering the delightful and providential coincidence of the term’s homophonity with the Koch Brothers.
Oh trust me, I’m well aware of how fringe my views are…
You know, I think I’m starting to understand how Tea Party types feel wrt the “establishment” portions of their party. It makes me feel sick thinking of me and Tea Party types as kindred spirits.
I wonder what Chafee fanbase you have been running into. When he was running seemed pretty reasonable himself, as far as that goes.
Then again, in this post you seem to be annoyed at “normal” people in general.
I like what little I know of Bastiat, but what kind of “giant” is Rothbard? Does he tend sheep and eat sailors, or is he plotting to overrun Asgard?
FDR and Lyndon Johnson actually passed actual laws, and dealt with practical realities. Something Mises and Rothbard never did, and never could. (Hayek, at least, had some influence on actual policymakers, for better or for worse.)
In other words, exactly the way the white supremacists, nativists, and anti-Semites use it.
Wait, Paul wants his supporters to learn more? Like, maybe wanting them to learn more about the contents of the newsletters he published, for instance? Heck, according to his own words, even he didn’t want to know what he was publishing.
I think Sanders (and his supporters) tend to think of conservatives as political enemies.
I think Paul (and his supporters) tend to think of everyone who isn’t a Paul supporter as political enemies.
They’re about equally obnoxious, but the Libertarians draw a lot of racist loonies, while Bernie draws flaky, New Agey loonies.
I don’t know, but Sanders for sure has a better chance of attracting more widespread support than Ron Paul could ever dream of. He is second in the field after Hillary Clinton, Ron Paul was never that front line in the Republican field in 2007-2008, even though the field was less crowded than it is now.
I could see myself being a Bernie supporter and voting for him, but I only agreed with Ron on one issue, other than that he was annoying.
Ron Paul was an utter failure in congress.
Sanders planted many amendments, that helped further his agenda.
Therefore, we may ask : “why does anybody still support Ron Paul?”
I blame Mercury in the Tuna Fish.
The fact that we don’t hear any left wing wailing and gnashing of teeth over this tells me a lot about Sanders’s supporters.
That most of them don’t care about something written before they were born and would rather base their opinions on actions he’s taken in their lifetime?
The exact same people who will jump on any thing their opposition has done at any time in their opposition’s lifetime.
It’s an interesting claim of hypocrisy do you have any examples?
Republicans tend to get nailed because in addition to making sexist remarks in their past they are also proponents of sexist policies.
Bernie doesn’t seem to have that issue, he has a pretty long history or supporting legislation that seeks to empower women.
Well, flakey, New Agey loonies are better, aren’t they? They might be just as loony, but at least their hearts are in the right places.
Meh. Some people have sexual power fantasies, some have rape fantasies, and others of us find it bemusing that they do.
Denouncing someone for observing this is like denouncing someone for observing that dead bodies decompose rather than rising to heaven in veils of light.
Sanders has acknowledged this multiple times and stressed that he regrets writing the piece. If he’d published this today, I would be backing away from my support of him. It was published decades ago. I fail to see how this is relevant, especially considering Sanders has been a defender of civil rights and political freedoms for his entire career.
When come back, bring relevancy. Thanks.
The fact that this is all that the wingnuts could come up with after pulling all the stops to dig up all possible dirt on Sanders tells me a lot about Sanders.
Next phase for the right: just start making stuff up. If Sanders advances further in the polls, I predict a book will soon be forthcoming along the lines of Unfit for Command, Obama Nation, and Where’s the Birth Certificate?. It will be written by Jerome Corsi, not a single thing in it will be true, and it will become a bestseller.
