Speaking of Seasame Street, who’s Kermit Love. The name appears in the closing credits as “Dedicated to”, IIRC.
Taken from here:
Now that Adam Yax has given a “straight” answer to the question, may I respectfully and tongue-in-cheek suggest that the proper answer to the topic title question is “Miss Piggy”?
Thats what I was going to say, and I honestly thought it was the “straight” answer too… haha.
So is Miss Piggy’s Kermit named after Mr. Love? Seems an unusual name
According to Mr. Love’s Wikipedia Bio, the names are simply coincidental. This is confirmed (if vaguely) by noting that Mr. Love’s bio says he met Jim Henson in the early '60s while Jim Henson 's bio says that Kermit was created in the previous decade.
Kermit is not a totally unusual name in some parts - I used to know two Kermits - both gentlemen in their 60’s. Thy’s be in their 70’s now. Maybe it is scandanavian… this is Minnesota, after all!
