Who's "so vain"?

I know, the rumor for years has been that the target of Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” was Warren Beatty. Or was it Mick Jagger, or Kris Kristofferson, or James Taylor, or … ?

Well, Dick Ebersol is about to find out. He say he won’t tell, but we can’t be sure.

Who’s your best guess, Dopers? Mine is that it’s a composite, based on Beatty but with a few of her other loves adding some flavor.

I think it’s Beatty because of the womanizing…but then again, the “apricot hat” sounds like something Jagger would wear.
