It’s by a prominent author, and I’ve tried for years to remember his name or the title but can’t. It’s a humorous story about an old couple, the wife a real nag, and the old guy lures her to the basement to kill her. She nags him all the way down. It had me in tears. Thanks in advance.
Was there a horri-gobble monster in the basement? If so, it’s The Crate by Stephen King.
No, it’s an old story, and very funny, not horror at all. By old, I mean I found it in a collection of classics.
Mr Preble Gets Rid of His Wife, by James Thurber. And you an Ohioan? For shame!
