Her face looks like it’s on its third body, but Chita Rivera still has a quite awesome body in her early 70s.
I saw a recent picture of Bettie Page (taken in the last year or so at a Playboy Mansion party, posing between Anna Nicole Smith and Pamela Anderson), and she still looked radiant. Not necessarily “hot,” but amazing for a women who has to be in her '70s. You all owe it to yourselves to Google up that picture.
As for me, I agree with most of the names given here, and I’ll add the plasticky-but-hot Suzanne Somers.
You mean this one? I think her appearance is enhanced by the stark contrast she provides between the ones flanking her. You know, here’s someone who never had plastic surgery standing between a couple of gals who are probably trying to figure out if they’ve had more “enhancements” than they’ve had sex partners.
Wow, I thought Bettie Page was the Thomas Pynchon of pin-up girls!
To everyone who has posted - great choices !!!
My vote goes to Carly Simon.
She was born in June 1945 and this magazine cover date
http://www.celebrity-gallery.com/content/pictures/CarlySimon/carly18.jpg
means she was about fifty in this photo.
I’ve seen more recent photos of her and she looks fantastic.
I’m hoping that in June 2005 she decides to do a nude photoshoot.
Geez it seems links like that are too long to post and work properly. Let’s try this:
Carly Simon
I quote you, only to let you know that I bookmarked that link faster than you can double-click a mouse.
My vote?
Stifler’s Mom. I mean, c’mon, it’s Stifler’s mom!
Tripler
Born 1963, my ass. . .
Man - I am spacing on her name, but there is a woman who was a world-famous model in, like the 40’s or 50’s for a French designer - Chanel, Dior or a house like that - who is in her 70’s and still does modeling and is just classic. She looks like that ancient bust of Nefertitti - the one that is typically cited as the basis for the definition of beauty in the western world. Beautiful grey hair…
I thought her surname was de la falaise - but I did a search and came up with an older model (Loulou) who is not the woman I was thinking of - her name is like Olga or something like that…
I agree with Sophia Loren, Lena Horne and Tina Turner, but you should see this woman…
Dame Helen Mirren looked damn good when she was 24. That’s 35 years ago. She’s still looks damn fine at 59.
She’s also said one of my favorite things about acting:
“All you have to do is to look like crap on film and everyone thinks you’re a brilliant actress. Actually, all you’ve done is look like crap.” (insert reference to movie of choice)
(on preview - WordMan - could it be Oriana Fallaci?
Lauren Bacall was a contender until surprisingly recently. Chita Rivera may still be: I saw her on some PBS show about ten years ago singing “Too Darn Hot” in a body stocking few women half her age could carry off.
Are you talking about Carmen Dell’Orefice?
Nah, they don’t allow linking directly to pics.
Ding! We have a winner! I just tried to find a better photo and the only ones that looked like I think of her were thumbnails only…
Those breast are gonna kill poor Bettie. They’re bigger than her head!
Ditto.
Barbara Anderson, most famous for playing a wholesome but hot cop on “Ironside,” is 59 and still maintains my lust at a high level. And I normally don’t have much of thing for blondes, unlike 99.99999% of my fellow straight males.
I betcha that redhead from “Lou Grant” is still hot. I’ll have to go search for her name, now.

I’m not sure exactly what happened with her. She quit being a pinup girl and became a fundie, then about 10 or so years ago, someone wrote a book about her, and paid a visit to her while they were researching the book. Bettie started doing phone interviews some point after that. Supposedly, she realized that was a positive role model for young women. Or it coud be that she got tired of being a retiree and eating cat food all the time and saw this as a way of making some bucks before she kicked.
Dave Stevens, the comic book artist who created The Rocketeer, was a big fan and sought Bettie out in the early '80s, becoming her friend. Stevens is probably responsible for a lot of her recent popularity, and even used Bettie as the hero’s girlfriend in the original Rocketeer comic (although for the Disney movie from 1991, her name was changed to “Jenny Blake” when Jennifer Connelly played her).
I think this is a better picture of her. She looks pretty damn good for being in her 70s.
I recognize her. She used to pose for Vogue Patterns, and she always looked so lovely.

Dave Stevens! I remember him—he was in the same drawing class I was in (a Burne Hogarth class). </hijack>
