Whose face should be the next to appear on currency?

Rather than hijack this Thread, how about sharing your choices for the next person to have her/his portrait on the nation’s currency (let us know which nation, or collection of nations, you’re speaking for).

Me, from the U.S., suggesting Frederick Douglass. (I hope to god that it’s only the non-U.S. Dopers who needed the link!)

I definitely think the choices should start to better reflect the diversity of this country. There were a few votes for Martin Luther King Jr. in the other Thread, but it just seems to me that recent figures shouldn’t be considered. I wouldn’t consider anyone post WWII (although, the Mint has proceeded on this in the past without consulting me- Kennedy half-dollar, etc.).

This guy.

THIS woman!
