I received an E-mail from Prince Charles once, but it was a one off.

One of my schoolteachers was Philip Pullman (childrens author) - I was in some of his school plays, too. Also I’m friends with Godfrey Stafford, although I haven’t seen him for a couple of years, but he was an old family friend that we used to go on vacation with.
Finally, I was once in a hot tub with Julia Ormond. Not that we’re pals, or anything, but she was very hot. I would email her if my wife would let me.
Jesus, however, is no longer my homeboy.
As far as I can remember at the moment, probably Matt Steinmetz, the Golden State Warriors analyst on the local cable channel. Nice guy who likes beer. Was supposed to meet up with him this past weekend at a beerfest in Berkeley, but I showed up late and missed him.
I am sure your wife wouldn’t have a problem with me emailing her though, right?
I have long thought that Julia Ormond is one of the most attractive actresses alive today, simply stunning…
Were you staying at a resort that she was also at, or was this a hot-tub on Fantasy Island? ![]()
Years ago, I was in a live chat with Ed McBain and he answered my question on a character in his 87th Precinct series.
Got an e-mail from Rick Bayless, Mexican food authority.
One time for each.
I don’t know about “casually” email, but if I managed to email Liv Wylder, she would probably know who I am. Only thing is, given the circumstances of how I knew her and through whom, I’m not sure she’d want to reply. (A mutual friend that was our connection who created a scene that ended their interaction.)
I’ve met a couple astronauts, worked with a couple, and have been to one of them’s house.
Phil Plait, I could totally casually email him.
I used to know someone who was, I think, related to someone who you might have seen in a movie, but I’ve forgotten both of their names. But, you know, I still feel special on account of I just bowled a 129 on Wii bowling. I’ve only got 800 points to go before I’m pro!!! You’ll want to be getting my e-mail address sooner rather than later…
Well, let’s see…

gaffa’s phone call from Kate is pretty special, but I think Infovore has a claim for the top prize as well. Wow!
Steve Berry (the author)
Although he answers all his e-mails (according to his site), he and I have had some interesting correspondence regarding his inclusion of my hometown (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) in one of his novels (The Alexandria Link).
Not about any mistakes he made (there were none) in its description, but my recommendations of what to see should he return.
We’ve also discussed various literary devices and the fact that every time I read one of his books I feel like I have been given a very enjoyable history lesson.
A very pleasant gentleman indeed.

You know, I’d forgotten that I’ve exchanged some friendly emails with Pearls Before Swine comic strip writer Stephen Pastis. I’m good friends with a cousin of his. But it has been a few years, so I don’t know that he’d particularly remember me at this point.
Heehee. It’s not like we were bosom buddies or anything. I just happened to join his official online fan club back in the early 90s, and I ended up getting to meet him a few times during backstage events (you could request backstage passes for any show if you were a club member, and I did for every show I attended). I had met him once previously when he came to my home town to promote “Try Anything Once”–it was an early morning thing at a local bar (morning radio sponsored) so it wasn’t that heavily attended and we got to chat a bit. He was amused by the fact that everyone else had brought him standard Alan Parsons Project CDs to sign, while I brought “Freudiana” (a musical that was extremely hard to get hold of at the time). I mentioned it during the first backstage thing and he remembered me. At that point, I could pretty much wave at him during shows and he’d wave back and recognize me.
Like I said, though, that was quite awhile ago and I doubt he’d know me from Adam’s cat at this point, unless we got another chance to chat and I reminded him about it.
BTW, the guy is pure class. And really tall. ![]()
One of my best friends is a cousin [about second cousin I think] of Valerie Bertinelli. They don’t call each other but she does have her email address and they exchange Christmas cards and the like. She describes her as a very sweet person pretty much exactly like the characters she plays but very private even with family.
Mine are mostly musicians. Jason McMasters (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys, Broken Teeth) Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns, Orig. Guns ‘n Roses, Brises of Destruction) Kevin Fowler, country musician (Beer, Bait & Ammo. Also played in Dangerous Toys). Oh’ & my roommates Dad was once married to Rue McClanahan (RIP), & she came by to pick him up to get his help working on her sons house (in Austin). I answered the door in my boxers… nice…
I think you mean Melissa Gilbert. Sara Gilbert was Darlene on Roseanne.
To answer the OP, though, probably the actor/comedian Rondell Sheridan. Met him several years ago when he was in town to perform at a local club. Through the stage manager of that club, I’ve also spent time with Mac King, Tim Cavanaugh, the late Bill Sacra, and more.
