Whose the most famous person you know well enough to casually email?
I could also email Brian Dunkleman, former American Idol co-host. We used to be in the same group of friends, but now he hates me.
Did you go with Seacrest in the divorce?

I’ve heard him say he left American Idol because he didn’t like the way they treated the contestants. My gut instinct is “yeah, and the fact they fired you just sort of clinched it”, but I have no idea if this is correct.

Well, hell, Twicks ah reckon!

Apparently she’s Derek Trucks’ wife, which was mentioned in a recent thread about her.

I love the man’s music, and his Dad’s drumming, so it follows (and with good reason), that I would count the lady as a celebrity I have contact with (not always pleasant - but always with respect).

I hope I am not being whooshed with the information I gleaned from that thread, because it would piss me off if that were the case.

Verily.

Q

Unless twicks is Susan Tedeschi, you’re being whooshed.

She never denied the content of that one post in that thread, so what am I supposed to think?

Why would that have been written? It had nothing to do with the thread, except asking us to give her a break because of who she is?

Sorry, but these days, I really do get whooshed easily.

Twicks?

And “Derek Trucks” poster, WTF???

Did you intentionally post incorrect information here?

Thanks

Q

I just went looking for the thread you’re talking about, Quasi, and it shows Claude Remains as the poster who said that twicks was Trucks’ wife. But he’s been suspended for a month so we won’t get to ask him for a while.

Oh, I forgot one - you know the “other guy” from NatureScene? The foil? I know him well enough to go knock on his door, even. He goes to my parents’/my childhood church.

They did a reunion gig a couple years back and it went so well they’re out playing again.

Oh, I don’t think he’s SUPER famous, but some of you dorks might appreciate that Larry Gonick, who writes those “Cartoon Histories of _____” books is a friend of my family. He and my dad went to college together. I haven’t seen him in ages, but I could definitely email him.

Hee hee.

I met him after the Idol debacle (actually, when we first met, I had no idea who he was because I didn’t watch the first season of Idol). I don’t think he was fired – it may have been more of a mutual decision. Just a regretful one.

I’m impressed. I love his books.

Sorry, Quasi, it’s a joke. I’m a huge fan, as is well known in a lot of the guitar threads.

Probably fantasy writer Pat Hodgell, a friend of my sister’s.

Mike Dean of Corrosion of Conformity is on my Facebook friend list. He stayed at my house one weekend many years ago.

He’s an in-law. But we’re not buds or anything.

I could probably email a whole range of politicians, executives and industry types, but it would have to be work related.

The Inspector General of the United States Department of Agriculture.

According to one book, he would have been fired, anyway. They only needed one host, I think. Why pay two?

Here is the interview with that author in full.

I’ve received emails from the composer Jeff Beal, and from “Pops” Bayless of the Asylum Street Spankers. The latter was none too pleased with me. I couldn’t write either of them and be recognized though.

I’ve seen him perform. He’s excellent.
