It seems that regardless of the direction in which I’m walking, the wind is always coming at me.
Also, when I leave the sublimely flat Chicago for hilly locales, such as San Francisco or Seattle, it seems I’m walking uphill WAY more often than downhill.
What’s the deal – and where’s the guy that gets to walk with the wind and downhill?
I would bet that it is all psychological. When the wind is with you or you are walking downhill you don’t notice it, but when the opposite is true it is more difficult so you do notice it. Kinda like people thinking that it rains more on the weekend than the rest of the week, when actually the reverse is true.
My guess was that you go to school at Kent State University - the campus is specifically designed that way.
