I’ve been sitting around my apartment all weekend long drugged up and unable to do much. I can’t even work on the computer long because the screen begins to sorta, ‘wobble’, after a while. It’s all legal, I assure you, it’s a result of a sick and injured vacation I had.
I’m not drunk or stoned. I’ve been there. This is entirely different. I’m seeing and hearing things that I know are not right and am able to process that right away.
For instance, I heard an ad on T.V. that said, or how I heard it as- ‘You wanna pay more for your Ford, right?’ clear as a bell. Now I know that can’t be what their promoting. I also heard an a program say- ‘We’re killing babies as fast as we can get them’.
Now this isn’t simply a mis-hearing somethig. I’m sitting there watching the program with as much interest as I can muster. It’s interesting to me because this is happening more often than not. Furthermore, I not in a happy fun place thinking ‘boy, that’s funny’. Then I might enjoy it more. Instead, I’m sitting here all normal and nice thinking- ‘What the Hell was that?’. I also haven’t been able to sleep much and know that comes into play.
So my question is: What the Hell is going on? How can I mis-hear something so wrong yet feel so right except for feeling tired all the time?
What kind of medicine are you taking? Ny-Quil and Benadryl will both have the effect you describe. This is why it says, “Do not operate heavy machinery while using this” on the back of the package.
You’ve never been sick before and heard weird stuff come over the TV? What are you, some kind of Iron Man? You never had the flu and sat up all night watching Charles Bronson movies on USA or TBS because you couldn’t sleep, what with the fever and the chills and your eyes crossing and uncrossing and a peculiar ringing in your ears from all the Ny-Quil?
A couple of times I’ve had high fevers and achieved a state where I hovered around the borderline between the dreaming and waking states. My family’s words and actions, the stuff on the TV, my dreams, my thoughts, and my memories all got mixed together until I couldn’t tell one from another. Better than acid!
I’d see a doctor. Fevers can have repercussions you really don’t want to have to contemplate ranging from brain damage to coma to death. And if it’s your meds, perhaps you can have them changed.
Sorry I haven’t responded sooner, but I’ve been busy staring at the wall…
To be serious:
I Didn’t meant to give you guys the wrong impression. I was on vacation and was feeling kind of crummy towards the end of my stay. I started taking over the counter meds and they seemed to help (Mild fever, hacking cough, general aches).
While I was preparing to leave, I strained my back picking up a bag. When I got home my back was killing me. I told my neighbor accross the hall, she’s a nurse, and she gave me some muscle relaxants.
Well, the combination of the two resulted in me hearing and seeing strange things around me. I stopped all meds early this morning and am feeling better now. My cold, or whatever, is still there and my back is achy, but it’s better than hearing things emanating from my wall.
It was one trippy experience. Trippy enough that I stopped taking everything to feel normal again, even with the aches and pains. Not like Benedril Duck, major halucinations. I’ll see her tomorrow and find out what exactly it was she gave me.
But thank you all for the concern- Except for you, Farmer, Ya shit.
