Based on your response it seems that you have some understanding of the situation. I took exception to your analogy of Kosovo to Texas.
Bush’s support of an independent Kosovo is not original, dramatic or a key element of U.S. foreign policy. He is simply signing on to a UN resolution that the administration doesn’t want to make an issue of. With the quagmire that the Bush administration is in, the Kosovo problem is the least of their worries but it afforded George an opportunity to score some positive publicity points with the media (until he lost his watch to a gypsy).
Look down this page of articles that Google brings up. It’s a complex situation.
