You were the one using grandma as an ageist and misogynistic insult. Those are your standards. So by your standards you are a hypocrite. My standards are sometimes a term is just a term without 421913520gf8908901289012098 years of baggage or connotation.
It’s stupid. And bigoted. And makes no sense. Do you capitalize tall, short, male, female, brown, white, green, handicapped, deaf, blind, hairy, or any other non proper adjective? Sorry that I don’t take my writing or speaking guidelines from the bigoted woke.
Pffft, that’s just your interpretation, I never said so. Don’t try to control my language by imposing your bigoted double standards on my choice of words, you manipulative woketivist.
See? You think you’re entitled to interpret other people’s remarks according to what you’re hearing them say, but nobody’s allowed to interpret your own remarks according to what they’re hearing you say. No, they just have to accept your decree about what you mean.
In short, octopus, your accusations of “double standards” involve more projection than a mall movie multiplex.
Be it known, octopus is an anglo saxon since he wants everyone to be treated the same and does not take his writing or speaking guidelines from the bigoted woke.
Wanting your own familiar and comfortable norms to be defined as “objective standards” is bigotry.
Arbitrarily deciding that a persistently very unequal situation should now be defined as a “level playing field”, so that you can keep your pre-existing advantage on it and don’t have to put in any more work on leveling it, is bigotry.
Wanting to define the minimization and dismissal of systemic discrimination as a necessary “basic function” is bigotry.
Can you explain what you think is wrong about it? Because ISTM that this is precisely what a huge chunk of right-wing bigotry consists of: namely, taking a post-racism ideal like “objective standards” or “level playing field” that all non-racists agree on wanting to be able to attain eventually, and demanding that we act as though we’ve already attained it.
Which, conveniently, leaves in place the residual advantages that white people still obtain from the presence of systemic racism, while absolving them from the responsibility to do anything to reduce those advantages and make the system more fair.
Ahh, yes the good ol’ level playing field where everyone is treated the same unless they’re not. Why am I sure that not only won’t you correct your black neighbors but you won’t correct your Black neighbors either . . . at least not without the safety of a place like this where you can ignore the pushback until it comes in the form of a banning.
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. AmIright octopus, amIright…
Again, are you stupid, why would I correct their language when the words they are using are perfectly well understood and mean what they want the words to mean. I should correct them because some modern social justice nut thinks some different word should be used? That’s ridiculous.
Are you saying you would have corrected their usage of colored? I didn’t think that level of arrogance existed outside of message boards where one has the safety of the hive.
And your opinion on who should or shouldn’t be banned is utterly irrelevant.
