Exactly, now about that capital B Black thing…
Yeah, it’s dumb.
Thugs and boys don’t deserve their ethnicity being capitalized.
In order for the playing field to be level certain people need to accept that they are not entitled to equal treatment.
I don’t capitalize white, brown, tan, red, yellow, purple or any other color that refers to people either. And I doubt that prior to a year ago you did either. But since you like to signal virtue you hopped on that bandwagon when it became a thing.
Tell me, what ethnic group name is octopus approved for thugs boys the coloreds*?
* octopus approved, non capitalized, ethnic group name
And exactly what do you think that signals?
Do you need a clue?
Really, I hate to keep asking are you stupid? How is treating common adjectives consistently bigoted? You know it isn’t.
And virtue signaling isn’t actually signaling virtue. In this case it just signals that you’re a thoughtless lemming. Because if you actually had an original thought and didn’t just follow the crowd you would have already engaged in your inconsistent capitalization years ago before it became ‘trendy’ and woke.
IT’S THE FUCKING WORD WE USE FOR THAT ETHNICITY!
Now, try to explain why this ethnicity doesn’t get treated like every other ethnicity?
BTW, I’ve used the ‘B’ for as long as I can remember. So, the last 40-45 YEARS.
No. No it isn’t.
Everybody, aside from a few black power type organizations used lower case to refer to people. It wasn’t until late summer of 2020 that the AP, NYT and other major media started capitalizing black. They still don’t for brown or white. So don’t give me that nonsense.
A few black power type organizations … so, Black people use ‘black’ to refer to their ethnicity and it doesn’t deserve to be capitalized why again?
Oh, and if we apply your rule across the board, why do we capitalize Pole?
A few black power organizations don’t speak for all of blackdom. C’mon now!
And are you serious about capitalization of a nationality? Black folk don’t come from the nation of Blackovia whereas Poles come from the nation of Poland. Yes, I capitalize African-American when I use that particular term. Because Africa is a proper noun. Like American. Do you seriously not understand this?
"The white, the Hispanic, the black, the Arab, the Jew, the woman, the Native American, the small farmer, the businessperson, the environmentalist, the peace activist, the young, the old, the lesbian, the gay and the disabled make up the American quilt”
― Jesse Jackson
Yet somehow, crowmanyclouds, is the final authority on writing style when quotes from famous black folks don’t use the construction that just now is coming into vogue. Let’s be honest here, you are nothing more than a lemming.
So you accept African-American? The name that was adopted to replace black by the ‘’‘woke’’’ of the 60s and 70s?
No, sorry, pole is already a word. Polish people will just have to find another word to use since we can’t have one word mean more than one thing.
Of course I don’t have a problem with the term African American. It’s not my preferred term because it leads to some silly things like referring to Scary Spice as an African American. Believe it or not, I’m not into this special treatment for different groups that you and and the left demand.
So, you accept whatever word Jesse Jackson want you to?
Are you serious? I’m showing you that what you claim was common was in fact not common. Furthermore, if someone made a compelling argument that all adjectives referring to people were to be capitalized I’d at least think about it. But noone is making that argument. People are making fallacious arguments to jump onto and promote a goofy, bigoted bandwagon.
Given your hostility to ‘B’ your demand for a certain type of special treatment for some groups is undeniable.
It’s not hostility to the B you big dummy. It’s hostility to the bigoted and inconsistent ideology that promotes it. And you still can’t get it through your bird brain that inconsistent treatment on the basis of race is bigotry. It’s legitimately scary how pervasive double think is among the left.
Right, not capitalizing the ‘b’ in the ethnic identity ‘black’, when all other ethnic identities are capitalized, is inconsistent treatment, apparently, on the basis of race and therefore bigotry . . . thanks for playing.
They aren’t capitalized. Seriously, read something like the NY Times and you will see that white and brown are not capitalized. That’s inconsistent. You are straight up misinformed.
