That is the one that made me the madest. I looked for the bird to be there 5 feet from the road every time when I drove by spring through late summer.
Marquette county used to have the largest population of sandhill cranes at one point around 1980. I don’t know about now. They gather in the fall in groups of hundreds in fields. One day the group just takes off for the south. They tend to beat the returning geese coming back in the spring. They break up into pairs and fight others off until fall. Do not approach one they can kill a dog and mess you up. They also like to glide accross a road at about 3 feet, so they are a car hazard too. You tend to wake up and find cranes or turkeys outside your window some mornings. So see not everything has gone to hell.
I’m glad that you remembered enough to find the link. Thanks. That was a good refresher course on that, and it documents the bullshit factor Atari was releasing. I remember all the unsold ET light up fingers that didn’t sell at the retail store where I worked. It was so obscene hanging in the kids toy section. They looked like a vibrator with a headlight. They eventualy ended up destroyed and pitched in our trash.
Now, that’s just stupidity on the part of whoever made that incredibly dumb decision. I bet they get a lot more clogged and flooded toilets in the women’s restrooms now, too.
