Why are places by the Persian Gulf so muggy?

For that matter, what about the Gulf of California? Long and narrow, flanked all over by hot desert mountains. I don’t know because I’ve never been there. But if my hypothesis held, it would need to hold for places like Baja California & Sonora.

San Felipe - 93F/60%
Guaymas - 88/62
Los Mochis - 90/49
La Paz - 96/29

So basically the further into the gulf you go, the more humid it is.

Just by the way, the whole region smelled like a sweatsock yesterday and my shipping container of an apartment is leaking condensation over everything. They are calling for 118 degrees F tomorrow, but then you have to ad in the humidity.

Accuweather says it’s currently (2250 local) 68F/78% here in southeastern CT. Weather.com says it’s 93F/65% in Bahrain (0650 there), 96F/40% in Dubai.

Most of my visits to the Gulf were in July/August. I wasn’t checking the weather every day, but I know that walking around town in Bahrain was much more comfortable than walking around here in the summer.
