At least it's a dry heat...

It’s 118 freaking degrees outside!

That seems excessive.

Damn. And no beer.

So. What’s it like living in the world’s largest Easy-Bake Oven?

Damn. That would boil water. I can’t take anything over 48 deg.

Sunny side up, please.

48?? I start sweating like a pig at 28!

Where are you that is dry? Dubai and most of the rest of the Gulf is like a sauna. Sana’a? Riyadh perhaps?

I was in Vegas earlier this week, and it was 109 most days. It felt like someone was walking in front of me blowing a hairdryer in my face.

I honestly wonder what’s worse, 118 degrees dry or 95 degrees with 99% humidity. Want to trade places and find out?

I’ve been meaning to tell you though… your hair looks fuckin’ awesome.

I’m not sure what’s worse - dry heat or smoky warmth. Forecast for today is mid 90’s and unhealthy air conditions thanks to the 1100 wildfires burning. In some areas, you can’t see more than a half mile through the haze, and everyone’s going around with their eyes stinging and watering.

95 with 99% humidity much worse. I’ve lived in GA and spent extensive time in NV…

I lived for 25 years in Arizona, where we regularly went months with highs in the 100’s-110’s without a single day that didn’t break 100… I lived in Phoenix in 1990 when it hit 122.

I lived for almost 3 years in Atlanta, GA.

Arizona is SO MUCH WORSE it isn’t even funny. No comparison at all.

Good to hear from you Bear. I’ll be joining you in a few months. Maybe we’ll bump into each other. I’ll be the one wearing the greenish suit.

Agreed. I’ve done the well-over-100 degree dry heat many, many times.

I have visited both Dallas and Washington, D.C. on days when the temps were near 100 with humidity over 80%, and it made me want to cry.

We Americans like using the F scale instead of the C scale. That way we can say it’s 118 F-ing degrees out here.

I’ve been complaining about the southern PA / northern MD weather here lately. We’ve only been hitting temperatures in the 90’s. I guess I wouldn’t get much sympathy from the folks in this thread. Most of you would think anything in the 90’s is a cool spell.

I’ve been in Louisiana when it was about 99 deg and 99 percent humidity. The daily 15 minute rain showers around 5 pm just from the humidity were always kinda amusing. I was working in a chemical plant that kept their control room just shy of growing icicles from the ceiling (at least that’s how it felt). We’d freeze inside and boil outside. You just couldn’t get comfortable. Plus, every time I walked outside my safety glasses instantly fogged over and I couldn’t see. To add insult to injury it was Mardi Gras week and I was so busy working I couldn’t even go see any of it. Our secretary felt sorry for me and brought me in a box full of beads. I thanked her and told her I didn’t want to know what she had to do to get them.

Louisiana was bad enough. If Arizona is worse, I don’t want to ever go there.

I’ll take the 118 and dry please.

We get 90s and 100% humidity often, and it’s unbearable. A few years ago I was in Vegas, at 110F, but dry, and though I had to drink a hell of a lot of water, it was relatively comfortable.

Well, that narrows it down.

I’d wear a carnation in my lapel but it would probably burst into flames in the heat. And I don’t have lapels.
