You know what Sixlets are? Little crunchy chocolate/carob covered candies, similar to M&M’s, but sold in little tubes?
If they are called Sixlets, why are there 8 in the tube? There’s only 5 colors, so it’s not numbering the colors.

Yup, they used to be packed in sixes.
Much like PEZ, which is an abbreviation of a German word for peppermint(Pfefferminze).
And this makes a lot more sense now too:
