I have worked as a POS technician before, but now I am working for a VOIP instalation company. In the past week 3 different companies called me saying they found my resume online and would like to hire me for field POS service positions. One evem offered me a job over the phone, but offered less than i am making now. I am able to fix credit card machines and cash registers, but am I the only one in the state who can do it? Is it really that hard to find people in Maine with a clean driving record and basic technical skills?

I got a voicemail yesterday from somebody looking for a Java developer.
I haven’t updated my resume online in a very long time. (And I haven’t done any significant Java in maybe a decade.)
I wonder if one of the online job sites is taking old resumes and re-setting something so they are coming up again in searches now.
But still a human should be able to easily tell it’s out of date at a glance.
I’d bet there’s a bit of a crunch in the POS industry right now because of the equippage deadline for chipped cards in a few weeks.
So everybody and his sister is just realizing they shoulda bought new smart cash register/POS systems sooner. And every POS sales outfit is scrambling to find enough installers to install all the stuff they’re suddenly selling.
