Why are the Clintons and Bushes so close?

Bill and W have had a fairly lucrative joint speaking tour, where they are on stage together talking about global issues, their presidencies, and what the future holds. I have seen this act a couple of times at Wall Street banking events. They each get about $500k for speaking about 40 minutes. It’s a ham & egg show, with a few little barbs between the two of them, well rehearsed.

Wow, with Trumpo as Arbiter, those two, Bill and W. as Pro and Con, Hillary as Glamorous Assistant, and Barack The Punisher as Dronemaster General to deliver verdicts, they can make quite a little televised travelling show to debate the great issues of the day.

It used to be, not all that long ago, that both parties wanted what was best for the country; they just disagreed on what that was. When you’re starting from that position, you can get along just fine in every context aside from actually passing legislation and implementing policies, and once you retire from the Presidency, you’re never doing that any more. Heck, even when you are doing political things, there are a lot of cases where the parties will agree on what’s best for the country, and so you can get along there, too (though of course that’s not as publicized).

It only seems odd to us now because we’ve entered an era where one of the parties has decided that destroying the other is more important than helping the country we all share. But it wasn’t always that way, and it doesn’t have to be that way.
