Yeah, after my earlier post, I realize that an original movie, set in the Discworld universe, would work better. I’d propose something with the Ankh-Morpork City Watch (perhaps a sequel to Guards! Guards!?), if only because the “urban cop” angle would give newcomers something to relate to, and you’d get to drop in appearances by various Discworld regulars.

(Scenes of secret societies, mystic ceremonies, noble dragons attacking the city, people in chaos)
And their only hope…
(Smash cut of various citizens watching in awed disbelief)
…is the City Watch.
(Cut to Nobby Nobbs and Sgt. Colon, hanging around, avoiding work. Nobby scratches himself.)
Colon: Nobby, spare a smoke?
(Nobbs searches himself, digs a dog-ear out from his armpit)
Nobbs: 'ere you go, Sarge.
