Why aren't TV/Movie musicals made anymore?

What intrigues me is the fact that many of the new musicals feed on a sense of nostalgia by using familiar music

Mamma Mia - ABBA
We Will Rock You - Queen
and a whole bunch of others, many of which have (deservedly) failed - the Cliff Richard one, for example.

Cite? There are still song and dance stars out there. Meryl Streep has never done a movie musical, but she is absolutely fabulous in Mamma Mia!
