“King of the Nerds” is a reality show. There’s only two episodes left, so the winning episode has already been filmed. Yet I’ve searched really hard online but I can’t find any spoiler site announcing who’s going to win. Why not? Between the contestants, the cameramen, the editors, the production assistants, etc, there must be several dozen people who know the winner. Sure they probably all had to sign non-disclosure agreements, but a) it’s not like they could be caught if they told their friend/wife/some blogger, and b) this isn’t national security stuff where people will die or money will be lost if a secret is leaked, and c) the sort of person who goes on reality shows is inherintly narcissistic and wants to talk about themself. So surely the contestants must have told their friends, who told their friends, who reported it anonymously to some blogger. Yet, I can’t find that.
Every organization has leaks – I’m surprised there are no leaks about reality shows. Why not? Is google just hiding the spoiler sites from me?
You hit upon it yourself - reality shows typically have nondisclosure or confidentiality agreements that prevent the participants from discussing what took place on set, especially divulging the content of episodes before they’re aired, some of which are said to be to the tune of several million. Losing out on a few million bucks can be a powerful disincentive to keep one’s yap shut.
Or, rather, a powerful incentive to keep one’s yap shut, and a powerful disincentive to blab.
Sure, but when there’s no way to get caught (if literally several dozens of people know the winner, how can the producers prove you were the one who blabbed?), and we’re talking about narcisstic reality show contestants who don’t necessarily think through the consequences before talking about themselves, and we’re also talking about poorly paid production assistants who’d be happy to pick up $100 for an anonymous tip to a blogger, etc…just seems like at least ONE person out of the several dozen would have talked, yes?
Yeah, I know that this sounds snarky, but, maybe it’s because no one (OK, very, very, very few people) cares?
I’m not pop media unsavvy and I’ve never heard of the show.
Fair point. But my question stands for any other reality show, too.

There are definitely spoiler sites out there for the more popular reality TV shows. Reality Steve has had scene for scene spoilers of the current edition of The Bachelor up for months. The forums at Survivor Sucks also usually have the entire season spoiled well in advance, and people often catch teams running the Amazing Race and post sightings on fan sites.
I think in this case, as moriah suggests, there just isn’t enough popular interest in this particular show for easily accessible spoilers. You may have some luck at a television-oriented web site like Television Without Pity.
