Why couldn't the nuns go to Maria's wedding? (Sound of Music)

Yet none of them can land an airliner when the cockpit crew is incapacitated.

Blame Vatican II and all the Church’s reforms!

And perhaps their order was dedicated to St. Eligius, who is the patron saint of several areas, including automobile mechanics.

Heehee. Shirley you jest.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop watching The Sound of Music.

One was an ignition coil.  The other, I couldn’t get a good enough look at to tell for sure, but it could have been a distributor cap.  Looked awfully small to be a distributor cap, but maybe the Germans car of that time simply had much smaller distributors that what I think they should be.

Of course, all that’s really needed for the scene to work is for them to be recognizably car parts.

Joey, have you ever been in a German prison?

Good question. It’s not clear what the Nazis would do. Will they recognize that the nuns were responsible for the sabotage or will they think the Von Trapps did it?

I suggest they blame it on Rolfe.

Rolf, have you ever been to the Eastern Front?

Just think how much better The Sound of Music could have been if the nuns had sung R.E.S.P.E.C.T to the Nazis when they burst into the Abbey?

That could be in the remake, The Sound of Music: The Musical.
