Why did she Like my Facebook posts?

Last night a woman I don’t know (she seems to be a plus-size model) Liked about a dozen of my recent posts on Facebook. Judging from her profile they don’t seem to be things that would appeal to her. My suspicious mind asks the question: Is there some financial or other incentive for Liking someone’s posts in large numbers?

If that Facebook account is fake, the operator would want to like random posts to make the account look legitimate before selling fake likes in the future.

It’s very likely the early steps in some sort of scam or phishing attempt. I get similar things on Instagram – what appear to be hot models with very sketchy profiles, liking my one and only post on Instagram, from three years ago.

I mean, she got you to click on her profile, didn’t she? I’m sure there are some people who would have done so, and then added her. I have that small subset of horny friends who clearly add people they find attractive, even when their accounts are obviously fake.

And since they added her, there’s no risk of her getting in trouble for sending out too many friend requests. Heck, she likely gets more trust by the system due to people seeking her out.

And, sure, there’s also leaving a bit of a trail to make the account look more legit. Too bad they don’t seem to realized that most likes don’t show up on their wall.

BTW, if you have the default settings on, then only people who are “friends of friends” (including your own friends) can see (and thus like) your posts. So it would suggest that someone you know has in fact added her. So it seems to be working.

Probably a spammer. I get those all the time; in my case, because I’m a middle-aged woman, most of my Facebook spammers are people who claim to be middle-aged men who say they are widowed.

I delete the posts and block them.

Why’d You Like It?

I got one of these just today. All of a sudden someone who is not my Friend and I don’t know and have no friends in common with Liked several of my public posts. I don’t think it’s harmful to me on its face but this person is probably trying to establish legitimacy for a fake account.
