Blackberry flavored jello. My mom had a receipe for Blackberry cake that was out of the world and it called for a package of blackberry jello which you can not find now.
Annie-Xmas: You can get a triple-decker chocolate bar as you describe from Marks & Spencer’s in England (well, my local branch stocks 'em). They’re not Nestle I don’t think, and they’re called ‘Mountain’ or something. But they do have a layer each of dark, milk and white choccy. Mmmm.
Personally I’m still cursing Virgin for discontinuing their DT energy drink. You could get it in three flavours: Tropical (blue can), Lemon (green can) and Cranberry (purple can). It was luscious and I swore by it when I was doing my A-Levels. Unfortunately they don’t seem to make it any more (or if they do, they don’t sell it in England!)
Ever hear of 'slotting fees"? It’s the money that manufacturers pay grocery retailers to get shelf space. There’s are a lot more products than shelf space so the big retailers essentially lease out the space in their stores. A new product comes on to the market and they will pay a premium promotional fee and a slotting fee to insure shelf space. Of course, at that point something has to go. If a slow selling product’s sales don’t support the slotting fees they will start to disapper until its no longer profitable for the manufacturer to market it.
The problem with the cycle is that many good products don’t stay around long enough to catch on and a good product without a huge marketing machine behind it has little chance of getting a toehold at retail.
dnL! I love that stuff! Getcher dnL here! Getcher free dnL!
How could they get rid of “Mr. Salty” pretzels? Won’t anyone think of the children?!
Lactaid drops. Last time I checked one could still have them shipped from Canada, but only by the case.
Contata perfume by Yves Rocher. Absolutely amazing stuff. My wife is down to her last 1/5 of a bottle.
McMath.
Lemon Coolers. We loved those damn cookies. No one around here carries them anymore, the bastards.
Plain Cherry Poptarts. No frosting! I hate the frosting! The kids hate the frosting. We loved our plain Cherry Poptarts. They make them no more. sob
