Why do all Sherlock Holmes TV shows have the same theme song?

My mom’s a Sherlock Holmes completist freak, and she’s bent on collecting EVERY episode of EVERY TV series made about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s crown prince of private investigators. (Except that loopy animated one set in the future where Watson is a cyborg and some werewolf or something pops up every five minutes. Oh, Sherlock Holmes in The 22nd Century. That’s the one.)

I find it more than a bit distressing that nearly every Sherlock Holmes TV show has this same opening theme. Trust me, you’ll know it when you hear it. What is it, the guy’s theme song? What’s next, the Watson Boogie?

I always find it amusing when I see the one thats on kids tv, may be the 22nd century one but i think there’s been more than one because when Holmes isnt teaching critical thinking and deduction I know he’s off shooting up coke and smoking opium.

hehe.

You may have a better shot at getting an answer in Cafe Society, so I’ll move this thread over there.
