Why do Christians openly worship torture-murder and practice cannabalism?

Growing up as an Episcopalian, I was an acolyte in my teen years. The only times the priest conducting the communion service did not dispose of the remaining wine as described above was when he reserved some for the sick who were unable to attend the service. That residue was then placed in what looked basically like a safe with a red light above it, the light being turned on to indicate the consecrated Host was present in the box/safe.

Now I’m a Mormon and we don’t practice “ritual cannibalism.” What we do is have a priest recite a particular prayer over bread and another particular prayer over water. In our belief, neither one becomes any part of Jesus at all. It’ll take me a few minutes to fetch the prayers and post them correctly, so I’ll put those in my next post.

Here is the prayer for the bread:

And here is the prayer for the water:

Note, that we replace the word wine with water because we use water instead of wine for our Sacrament service. This bit is what I was taught as the reason we don’t use wine these days. You’ll have to scroll down yourself to see the highligted bit, I couldn’t get the automatic scroll to work.

Oh, and that’s another reason that I don’t think replacing [del]Benny the Rat[/del] [del]Benedict bar Sinister[/del] Benedict XVI with a non-European will help things much. Majority-Catholic countries outside of Europe can be [del]medieval[/del] [del]creepy[/del] non-progressive.

A tabernacle! In French Canadian, “tabernac” is a curse word. Curious, no?

There’s an old joke about a Catholic and Anglican chaplain having an ecumenical discussion in the second world war and the Anglican suggests they store their communion together. The Catholic chaplain admonishes him, reminding him that live rounds aren’t stored with blanks (hope I got that terminology right).

As a Christian I can confirm it is in preparation for the glorious Day Of The Rope, when tiresome atheists like you shall be torture-murdered to the joyous celebrations of the faithful.

As a tiresome atheist myself, the only solace I have is the unending internecine wars among the faithful that remain.

Your find solace in missing out on all the good bits? The mind of atheists works in insane and perverted ways. QED. You obviously deserve the fate reserved for you.

Yes, apparently various Catholic things are fodder for Quebecois vulgarities. As I found out from a FOAF after I politely asked him to stop.

It beats singing Hosannas for eternity. You can get used to pain, but not boredom.

Sorry, of course I meant “substitutionary.” Nothing involving tits. Though that actually would be less silly.

I don’t know about all Christians but RC’s believe it was the command of Jesus to eat of his body and drink of his blood so they would have life with in them. They believe the host changes at the consecration of the mass, when the priest repeat the words recorded as Jesus when he said " this is my body and this is my blood as he gave his apostles the bread and wine, because Jesus was said to have said." this is my body take and eat, and this is my blood take and drink all of it" But In reality as I see it, it was just was just symbolic. like a lover who tells his beloved This Is my heart, take it and say we will never part, he doesn’t literally give his heart, But some take that literally. I wouldn’t say it was a cannibalistic act.
